Studio Etiquette

Guidelines for a harmonious and respectful practice environment

At Boutiqueeisuper, we believe that yoga is not just a physical practice but a way of living mindfully and respectfully. Our studio etiquette guidelines are designed to create a peaceful, supportive environment where everyone can practice with comfort and ease. By observing these guidelines, you contribute to the positive energy of our community and enhance the experience for yourself and others.

Timing and Arrival

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes before class to check in, set up your space, and settle your mind
  • If you're new, arrive 15-20 minutes early to complete registration forms and receive a brief orientation
  • For your safety and to avoid disrupting others, we do not allow entry more than 5 minutes after class has begun
  • If you must leave early, please inform the instructor before class and position yourself near the door
  • Stay for the entire class, including Savasana (final relaxation), which is an essential part of the practice

Attire and Hygiene

  • Wear comfortable, clean clothing that allows for movement without revealing too much during inversions or forward folds
  • Practice good personal hygiene out of respect for others sharing the space
  • Remove shoes before entering the yoga room and store them in the designated areas
  • Avoid wearing heavy perfumes, essential oils, or scented products as many practitioners have sensitivities
  • Consider bringing a small towel, especially for more vigorous classes

In the Practice Room

  • Enter the room quietly, respecting those who may be meditating or centering themselves
  • Turn off or silence your mobile phone completely (not just vibrate mode)
  • Place your mat with enough space between you and other practitioners
  • If the room is crowded, stagger your mat to create more space for everyone
  • Keep conversation to a minimum and speak in hushed tones
  • Avoid stepping on others' mats when moving around the room

During Class

  • Follow the instructor's guidance while honoring your body's needs and limitations
  • If you need to take a break or modify a pose, feel free to do so without disrupting others
  • Avoid competitive attitudes or comparing yourself to others
  • Refrain from giving unsolicited advice to fellow students, even with good intentions
  • If you have questions during class, raise your hand or ask quietly
  • Breathe mindfully and be aware of the volume of your breath

Props and Equipment

  • Gather any props you need before class begins
  • Treat studio equipment with care and respect
  • After class, clean your mat with the provided spray and wipe down any props you used
  • Return all props to their designated storage areas
  • If you borrow a studio mat, clean it thoroughly after use
  • Report any damaged equipment to the staff

Community Respect

  • Embrace the diversity of our community and practice inclusivity
  • Avoid discussions of politics, controversial topics, or gossip in the studio
  • Respect the personal space and privacy of other practitioners
  • If you notice a new student, offer a warm smile but allow the instructors to provide assistance
  • Share your feedback or concerns with staff privately rather than discussing issues in the practice space
  • Remember that everyone is on their own unique journey with yoga

Health and Safety

  • Inform the instructor of any injuries, health conditions, or pregnancies before class
  • Do not attend class if you are ill or have contagious symptoms
  • Practice within your limits and use modifications when needed
  • Stay hydrated, especially during more vigorous classes
  • If feeling dizzy or unwell during class, come to a seated or lying position and signal the instructor if needed
  • Clean up any water spills immediately to prevent accidents

Studio Policies

  • No photography, video, or audio recording during classes without prior written permission
  • Keep your valuables at home or use the lockers provided (at your own risk)
  • Food is not permitted in the yoga room; water in sealed containers is welcome
  • Respect the studio's quiet zones, especially during meditation classes
  • Observe our cancellation policy as outlined in our Terms of Service
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult or attend designated youth classes

The Spirit of Yoga

Remember that yoga is more than just physical postures. It's a practice of mindfulness, compassion, and self-awareness that extends beyond the mat. By observing these guidelines, you help create a space where everyone can explore their practice with dignity and respect.

Thank you for being part of our community and contributing to the positive energy of Boutiqueeisuper. If you have any questions about our etiquette guidelines, please don't hesitate to speak with our staff or instructors.
